To "wait" entails confidence with an expectation and an active hope in the Lord God.
To "mount up" given meaning is to come forth, go up, ascend, climb, and rise up.
To "run" given meaning is to move at a speed faster than a walk, never having both or all the feet on the ground at the same time.
And, to "walk" given meaning is to move at a regular and fairly slow pace by lifting and setting down each foot in turn,, never having both feet off the ground at once. These depicts the spiritual transfor-
mation that is brought to a person. The Lord God gives power to those who trust in Him.
The eagles here depicts the strength that comes from our God. He describes his deliverance of the Israelites in Exodus 19:4; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself, as similar to being lifted up on an eagles' strong wings. The Lord God gives strength and power to his people, and helps them by enabling them to help themselves.
There are many situations and circumstances in our lives, where we need the Lord's given power to many that were at the point of fainting, those ready to disappear as vapors, to those who are weak and have no strength, might, or ability, but God, not only give the strength, but he increased their strength in the occasions given for it. Even in the midst of illness, lack of, in weakness, he is strong and strengthens and wonderfully brings these and many more back to recovery for his glory.
This verse illustrates how one who solely trust in the Lord can overcome any obstacle that may arrive in his or her path. Wings of eagles describes the speed and strength and courage that will be imparted to the life of the faithful who will find completion, reward and elation as a result of waiting. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, who are mindful of their commitment to him, rely upon him, and commit to his guidance will know that God will not fail.. God's grace to his people is for the best purpose and plan for their life, they shall soar upward towards God; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, strong, so swift, and so high, that in this strength of divine grace their souls shall ascend above the world. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
