The Almighty God controls human affairs. Therefore, it seems more sensible to seek the Lord first before inclining to seek the favour of human rulers. The course usually taken by humans is to advance in life and make themselves great in the eyes of the world; many seek the ruler's favor. Solomon was a wise ruler, and in his wisdom, many of the men of his court used different reasons, worked carefully and made it neat in order to gain his favor. The way of the world is to make contact with great men, and most often becomes a disappointment to them of which they cannot maintain.
The wisest course anyone can take is to seek God Almighty who is the Ruler of rulers, knows the beginning and the end of the heart of man, for every man's judgment proceeds from the Lord God. As stated in this verse: But justice for man comes from the Lord. The favour that comes from God is as He pleases and he is faithful and just in all and to all.
