James 4:7 KJV

We are taught as Christians to submit ourselves totally and completely to God.  This will cause a forsaking of the friendship of the world and become submissive to God as his children, submissive to his Word, his understanding to the truths of God, to his will, and obedience  to his statutes and commands.  Jesus prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done ( Luke 22:42).

The Lord God will not harm us by our submitting unto Him, or by him reigning over our lives, but, he will do you good.  There are great benefits and blessings in being submitted to God.  The Scripture tells us that;  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)

Submitting to God will always awaken the hindrances of the devil, therefore, we must with steadfastness always resist the suggestions of the devil.  He (the devil) will not just stand back and allow a calm yielding to God.  We must resist the suggestions of fear he (the devil) may bring into our minds.  We must resist the suggestions of calamities, misery, pride and suggestions of slothfulness.  We must resist to not allow the devil in any attempts prevail upon us: but, rather resist him and he will flee from you.  One way to do this is if we would;  Put on the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).  He will flee, and as long as you are wearing the amour of God, the devil will continue to stay away.
