There is a blessed privilege for those who stay connected and abide in Christ.  In order to maintain a continuous union with Jesus Christ is - by the word of God.  We are told in scripture that, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God, (John 1:1-2).  It is in the word of God that Christ is presented to us as well as offered to us.  It is also in the Word that we receive him and are able to embrace him as our Lord and Savior.  Therefore, where ever the word of God dwells and dwells in abundance; there, Jesus Christ dwells richly.

 

As we offer the word of God a home in our hearts to guide and monitor the traffic in and out, it keeps us abiding in Christ and he in us.  One of the most rewarding and powerful tools we have to build a communion with Christ Jesus is prayer.  We maintain a relationship with him and as a reward, what can be more desirous than to be able to have what we will by asking.  It is a joy to abide in Christ as our heart's delight, and through Christ, fill our heart's desires.  If we abide in Christ, and his word in us, we shall not ask any thing but what is proper to be done for us by the will of the Father.
